About Meredith Prescott, LCSW

Hi, I’m Meredith Prescott.

I specialize in helping young adults and couples navigate challenges in their relationships, chronic illness, grief, and everyday life.

By combining Cognitive Behavioral, Emotionally Focused, Solution Focused and Psychodynamic modalities, I can help you:

  • Set healthy boundaries and gain assertive skills

  • Strengthen self-esteem and confidence

  • Gain clarity on what you want and what you don’t want (for yourself, and from other people)

  • Navigate the emotional side of living with chronic illness

My Background

I began my therapy career working with young adults, couples, and families at Mount Sinai Hospital’s Oncology outpatient division. 

Working with cancer patients and end-of-life care gave me perspective on what’s truly important in life — a perspective that continues to influence my therapy approach and commitment to supporting those struggling with anxiety, relationship struggles, and chronic illness.

My goal is simple: I’m here to help you thrive.

  • Master’s in Clinical Social Work, Fordham University

  • Post-Master’s certification in Advanced Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, New York University

  • Post-Master’s certification at Training Institute for Mental Health for Advanced Couples Therapy

  • Social worker counseling oncology patients at Mt. Sinai Hospital for 5 years

  • Experience in private practice working with individuals and couples

  • Special needs mentor and coach for 5+ years.

I do like to tackle things head-on, but we’ll take our time when we need to. With that in mind, I will help you prioritize which issues might be the most helpful for us to work on first, but our journey together will be directed by you.
